Fitting...

We offer a comprehensive installation service for all our curtains, poles, tracks and blinds. It is always best to visit our showroom with your approx window sizes where you can view the whole range of products available and discuss your requirements. We can advise on style and suitability and also give you an indication of cost to allow you to finalise your choice.

As part of the installation service, we visit your home to survey and measure the areas in question. We can discuss your choices, explain how they fit and operate, and offer alternatives if your initial choice is not suitable. We then return with the products and install them. Our fitters are fully insured and will take every care whilst working in your home.

Do it yourself

To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully. We suggest using a metal tape measure for accuracy. The first step is to decide whether you want your curtains to hang from a track or pole, both of which should be positioned 15cm above the window and extend 15-20cm either side. These sizes are given as a guide and may need to vary depending on personal choice and any restrictions around the window.

Fit the track or pole before taking measurements.

Curtains

Width (all headings)
Measure the entire width of your pole or track. If you don’t have one in place yet, measure the width of your window recess and add 30cm

Drop (pencil & pinch pleat)
Measure the distance from the eye of the runner of the track or if you have a pole, the bottom of the ornamental ring to the floor or 4cm below the window sill. Also note the height from eye the runner of the track to the top of the track. Advise us if you would like the curtains off the floor, touching the floor or over length.

Drop (eyelet heading)
Measure the distance from the top of the pole to the floor or 4cm below the window sill.

Blinds

The first decision to make is, do you want your blind to fit inside or outside the recess? Note: If the recess is less than 60mm deep, the window opens inwards or there are other obstructions the blind may have to be fitted outside the recess, please call us first if this is the case

Inside Window Recess (Recess)
Just give the width and height of the recess. We will make minor deductions to these measurements as necessary for the blind to fit in a recess of this size. N.B. It is advisable to measure the width in several places and you should of course quote the minimum width. (When measuring for roller blinds, please take the width measurement from the top of the window to ensure best fit)

Outside Window Recess (Exact)
Decide how much you wish to overlap the recess at each side (suggested overlap is 60mm each side and at the top and bottom. These sizes are given as a guide and may need to vary depending on personal choice and any restrictions around the window.
